The dossier entry: El Bergepanther
The Bergepanther was built on the turretless Panther chassis and fitted with a winch and a folding jib to lift heavy components such as engines or damaged turrets. It served in the maintenance companies of Panzer divisions to tow and recover damaged or disabled tanks from the battlefield, a role in which it is considered one of the most effective recovery vehicles of the war.
