War Dossier is a World War II trivia game, free and with no sign-up. More than 12,000 questions in English and Spanish, many of them built on real archive photographs: aircraft, tanks, warships, weapons, campaigns and the people who were there. It runs in the browser, with nothing to install.
Every day at 00:00 UTC a ten-question challenge starts, the same one for everybody. The next day it moves into the daily challenge archive, where the questions stay with the correct answer and an explanation of why it is the right one. You can play today's at wardossier.com/today.
Every photograph in the game carries its source record: author, licence and — save for a handful of exceptions — a link to the archive it came from. Most are public domain, from national archives. They are all listed in the photo credits.
