The dossier entry: T29 / T30 / T34

The T29 was the first of a family of postwar American heavy tanks, begun in 1944 to counter the German Tiger II and built on a lengthened M26 Pershing hull. The T30 replaced its 105mm gun with a 155mm piece, and the T34 fitted a 120mm gun derived from an anti-aircraft weapon. None arrived in time for the war: the first examples were delivered from 1947 for trials at Aberdeen, and several survive today at Fort Benning.
